Gasparilla Festival
from:
The Gasparilla Festival is held in Tampa, Florida on an annual basis, usually on the second Monday of February.
This is a whole day long party with the locals in appropriate period costume, usually dressed as pirates. Boat parades add to the jolly good fun. The overall happy expressions, effects and environment of celebrations makes this event a good family outing especially for young children brought up reading books like Treasure Island with its mysteries and buried treasure.
