Corps plans massive plug for MR-GO-Intracoastal Waterway (WWL-TV, Channel 4 New Orleans)
It is called the weak point of the city's hurricane protection system; it is where the Mississippi River Gulf Outlet, MR-GO, and the Intracoastal Waterway meet. Storm surge from the Gulf is funneled to a point and then pushed directly into Orleans and St. Bernard Parishes.
